cracked beak!

So my poor A'tuin has a cracked beak. He's been monitored by the vet, who also sees dogs/cats/rabbits, but was trained at the exotics hospital that I trust, but is there anything I can do to keep it from going farther and farther up? Should he go in to the specialist to get it looked at?

You said hes been monitored by a vet you trust. What did the vet say about it?

Vet said it looked okay, but that was like to months ago and he's not scheduled to go in again for another month

That's a hard spot to allow healing because every time the tortoise bites off his food he puts stress on the crack. About the only thing you can do is cut up his food so he doesn't have to bite off chunks. Keep the beak trimmed too. What caused it in the first place was because the upper beak is slightly overgrown.
