So my poor A'tuin has a cracked beak. He's been monitored by the vet, who also sees dogs/cats/rabbits, but was trained at the exotics hospital that I trust, but is there anything I can do to keep it from going farther and farther up? Should he go in to the specialist to get it looked at?IMG_20200121_162811473.jpg IMG_20200121_162828189_MP.jpg

That's a hard spot to allow healing because every time the tortoise bites off his food he puts stress on the crack. About the only thing you can do is cut up his food so he doesn't have to bite off chunks. Keep the beak trimmed too. What caused it in the first place was because the upper beak is slightly overgrown.
