Cracked lower beak

I noticed a few weeks ago that my tortoise has cracked his lower beak. I have no idea how that happened, he's very energetic and likes to bite things so he might've tried to bite something too hard. The crack has not bleeded at all and he's been acting and eating normally.

I'm seeing a vet next week, but I wanted to ask has anyone dealed with something like this? Is this possible to fix?

Make sure the tortoise has the proper heating, lighting, diet, hydration, and temperatures, and it will heal itself. Nothing a vet can do.
