I posted on here a while back about little Blast and got some advice on raising him, which I have followed and generally he's doing a lot better, he's gained weight and has a monsterous appetite. His plastron also feels pretty solid at this point. However I'm concerned about the colour developing on his shell, I'm not sure if its normal or not. Is it maybe due to the fact that his shell is starting to smooth out? I'm not sure

that light new growth is completely normal. Dark streaks will randomly fill in as it grows which give leopards that blotchy pattern. The very light color of the new growth will darken to a tan with age and exposure to the sun. Great job on raising your tortoise - looking good!
