Cuttle bone found on beach.....

Well the sunject says it all....we found a lovely big cuttle bone on the beach yesterday, it washed up while we were sitting there! (We have been looking around for one here but havn't found one yet!)

My question is, if we boil it and clean it well, is it okay for Tallula if it isn't store bought?

It's just fine, if you boil it, to give it to Tallula. Thats where cuttlebone comes from anyway. Though the ones in the petshops come from cuttlefish that were caught to eat.

That's awesome. Funny you can't find them near you. Do people keep birds as pets? A bird supply store may have them for future reference, but one will last a long time unless it gets soiled or the tort is big!

LOL Kate ! I'm sure there are cuttle bone sold at bird supply stores, but they are all so far from where I am....this city is "wired" differently to most!
