Doesn't look like our dandelions in Louisiana ( I know there are different types). The leaves look like a thistle of some sort- is it prickly or soft?

The leaves are very prickly! I think I found it online (snow thistle) It's about all I can find growing around here at this point. I read that it is safe for them to eat. I just gave him a couple flowers and he went after them like a fat kid eating a cookie! lol

I don't know what it's called, but I feed it to mine regularly. It's good to go.

I am SO GLAD that you started this thread, TortyTom! It made me look up more about Sow Thistle, and lo and behold I've been feeding it to Elsa all along, thinking it was dandelion! They look a lot alike. According to what I read, the reason it was given its name is because it's such good forage for pigs and other domestic animals!
