Hi greenLUV...being specific, what do you feed? What brand of calcium & of supplements do you use? How much & how often? Does he go outside to graze at all?
Don't worry about the soaking causing diarrhea. Go ahead & keep soaking every 2 or 3 days for about 15 minutes in warm water.
Good luck

Hi again...forgot to mention that you should probably take a fresh poop sample to a reptile vet and get a fecal done to check for parasites, bacteria, protozoa, etc.

A tortoise fed mostly on grocery store greens usually has pretty runny poops. They need the fiber from grazing to get them firmed up. Will your tortoise eat Mazuri? That usually does the trick too.

i vary his diet between, green beans, spring mix salad, and tomatoes, i soak him twice a week, and supplement him with TNT. so it sounds like its a combo of the soaks and the grocery greens, i will take the advice on taking his poo to the vet (just to be sure) and try him on some of those fibrous greens, hes really picky and can be a lil jerk sometimes..
thx for the replies guys!

greenLUV, I would stop feeding him the green beans (Phytic Acid: This is found in high concentration is peas, beans and cereals. This chemical also binds minerals as well as proteins.) and only tomatoes as an occasional treat. Spring Mix, Escrole, Endive are good choices occasionally squash like zuchini or butternut shredded. Roses, rose leaves (no thorns) wondering jew, Hibiscus, geraniums Not geranium Ivy. Mushrooms bought from the store if he will eat them. Here is a site that has a nice listing for your Russians diet.
