Hello, I am new to this forum. My name is Rachel and I am blessed to have two golden Greek tortoises. They're about a year and a half old. Their names are Stix and Stones, sex undetermined still. This morning Stones has been having diarrhea and it has continued all day. It's a different green than normal and messy with a slight odor. I haven't changed his diet or anything. My other tortoise, Stix, is fine. Please help!!! 🐢🐢

Hi and welcome! How long have you had them? The diet is the same, but did the get the same amount as normal? What have they been eating? Has anything else changed in their little world or even between the two of them is behavior different at all? Other then the diarrhea, is Stones acting her normal self? Have you ever had them checked for parasites?

This happens occasionally and it's okay. Is she acting normally otherwise? If it continues more than a couple of days, you might want to try adding some fiber to the diet. A stool sample to the vet for a worm check wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Stress is another possibility too. Tortoise of most species do not do well in pairs. One almost always suffers. In the wild one or the other would leave the area. When they can't it becomes a source of long term chronic stress. There done not have to be any outward obvious bullying for this to happen. Just the presence of the other one can do it.
