What is your mt. Tortoise main diet? Is it mixed up more of one thing then the other? I know it's a common question in the turtle and tortoise world, and we all know mt tortoises arnt like other more weed/grass eating type tortoises. So what do you have as let's day main staple, treats, and not very common. I usually go with:

Main; usually a mix if squash, romain, kale, mushrooms, spring mix. I try and mix it up as much as possible throwing in hibiscus flowers and rose pedals, dandelion greens, collard greens, my local 99cent store has catus pads 5 for a dollar so started throwing that in they love it.

Treats: water melon cantaloupe, bananas, and night crawlers.

Not tried: Idk I made this thread I guess to get a better understanding of what these guys can eat as a staple, since they arnt like a normal tortoise diet, I thought maybe more red footed diet??

Hopefully we can get a good list going for mt. Tortoise. Very interested to here from Vic Morgan & Yvonne have as here main diets with the bigger one, they must eat a lot lol

In my case it depends on season. Spring, summer, and fall it consists of prunings from grape vines, mulberry, and hibiscus mixed with weeds such as dandelion, plantain, and violet. Being outside they forage for whatever invertebrates venture into enclosure. This supplemented by wild fungus, store bought mushrooms when on sale, fruit such as melon and right now raspberries from my bushes . Winter they get greens (collards, turnip, and mustard), winter squash, and whatever fruit is available. They also get also allocassia and colocassia as treats. I do feed them similar to my RFs. I also am endlessly surprised by what volunterly forage and eat (this year they started browsing mock orange).

This year I added Virginia creeper to the summer time diet,I still have some blackberry plants but am doing away with them so they get the leaves from whats left. mushrooms at least once a week. other various weeds, fruits and vegetables as they come avialable.
