I ask a lot of questions on here... anyways I have two Redfoot hatchlings. One (Lucy) I bought from a pet store about two months ago in early August and the other one (Lilo) I bought from a breeder very recently. I am not sure when Lucy hatched, but I know Lilo hatched in mid July. I was surprised when Lilo arrived and was significantly bigger than Lucy. I also noticed that when I put food in their containers (separate) Lilo always eats all of her food while Lucy usually doesn't. She will only eat about half or less and then go back into her hide or burrow. She doesn't usually leave her hide or moss to seek out food either. If I take her out and feed her by hand she will eat all of it. Is there a problem? I know tortoises grow at different rates so I feel like I'm just being paranoid, but I still worry because they are so young! Below is the size difference in the same type of bowl.
