Do gopher tortoises like to have partners??

I was just wondering if Gopher Tortoises are social. Do they like to be alone, or would they like the company of another tortoise. If so, would it only be their species?

No they don't need company and definitely don't mix species

No. All tortoises are solitary. Sometimes GROUPS get along ok in a large enough yard, but never two.
