I got my first tortoise 5 days ago and I have so many questions.. And the internet is full of conflicting info! I got an 8month old Greek tortoise, and regarding food, do I need to keep something there for him at all times? How much does he need? I read that feeding him two times a day is best, but how much should I give him? Does he stop eating when he's full?

Any help is appreciated!

Greeks are grazers. They browse throughout the day. They don't have set meal times like you and me.

Always feed first thing in the morning and add more if the food is cleared... they're not particularly bothered if greens go a bit limp and will stop eating when they have had enough.

There is lots of outdated and inaccurate information out on the internet and from books and pet stores and, sadly, from some breeders and vets too.

Our forum species experts have put together some useful guides that I recommend you read

I have noticed that Oli eats when he is hungry and stops eating when he is full. (But he's not young).
