Dobby - Constipation

One of my redfoots has been constipated lately. I wonder if she isn't getting enough water, even though it's always available and accessible. I gave her a warm soak yesterday, and she started struggling to have a BM. After some time, she was able to get just a little bit out. I then picked her out of the tub and grabbed the poo (with a paper towel) that was still protruding from her. With a slow, gentle pull, I extracted probably two inches of poo. Just be very gentle and slow, and maybe you can provide some manual assistance like this.

We are putting her in warm water every day. But we think she is eating it cause she is eating a lot walking very active acting like a normal tort but she is not leaving any poop so we asume she is eating it.

Is that a common thing for redfoots?

I was very concern about that but everybody in this forum told me they like to do that and everything everybody have told me here they are right. So I beleve them

My tort really like to eat her poop cause today it will be a month since her last poop we saw and she still living normaly and doing fine

Yeah I have a RF too and I barely see her poop. Sometimes I catch it in time to take it out, but rarely. She is healthy so I'm assuming she's eating it as well then. Gross [FACE SCREAMING IN FEAR]

Well! Still no poop! But she is active, walking around, eating a lot, warm bath everyday, rise the fiber and definitely eating her poop. Today my girlfriend found her with poop on her mouth. Apparently she loves to eat it.

Haha its a urate. She has never passed those before? I find my tort with a black mouth :dodgy:. A lot. I haven't seen a poop in a while, at least five days, and his soak revealed a black mouth. Yucky, yucky boy! But its the way of the world. What goes in must come out. And then go back in on occasion!

We havent seen any poop from her for like a month and a half. She is very active. Walking every where in the habitat. Eating a lot. Getting her warm water soak every day. And definitely has to be eating it. Cause if not something bad should had happen.

No no no! Urates = normal. Totally fine.
Tortoises pass those sometimes. Its just like a poop, but its white and comes out when they pee. So no worries! Happy happy. Happy tortoise, happy you. Healthy happy tort. It shouldn't happen too often. Once in a while. But its hard to pick up in the enclosure and they won't eat it. Be glad it happened in the tub. Happy happy healthy!!!!

Walking and eating!!

My tortoise does that. He will have a urate once a day for like three days, and then not have any for a long time. Once in a while. Totally normal. He is eating walking and stuff its all good!

Hahaha! Crazy tortoises, what have we gotten ourselves into? one likes to eat poop and then freak us out with his poops!!

Well! The so called hybernation or the cold slow time of Dobby has ended.
Now she is back how she was when we got her. Eating and pooping. Jejeje

Yeah!!! Every two days she is pooping like that. She started last friday. And she is eating really a lot!!!!
