Hello all, it was my understanding that leopards and sulcatas are hardly prone to experiencing shell rot due to sitting on overly wet substrate. However, after seeing a recent thread in which a sulcata had developed the condition I had begun to feel about a mark on the plastron of my leo hatchling. Now, he has always had this mark since I brought him home ~3 weeks ago and the substrate in his chamber is far from soaking wet, visibly drying out a bit throughout the course of the day.

I recently lost a previous hatchling so I just don't want to take any chances with this one. In the attached pictures the mark in question is just to the right of yolk sac scar. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think you have anything to worry about, however, if it bothers you, dabbing on a bit of athlete foot cream wouldn't do any harm.
