Hi, i am wondering if air temperature affect sulcata nesting in her enclosure.

Currently the temperature ranges between 26 celcius at night to around 35 at noon. I am afraid that it is too hot for them to lay eggs.

She has dug many times before during previous week, and dug with her hind legs too, which i think is sign of egg laying. However after she stopped digging, i still cannot find her eggs everywhere in the enclosure.

I wonder if the air temperature being too got made her stopped the egg laying process?

Here in the Southwestern USA, they lay from about January until May. These are our colder months.

I don't know when they lay in Indonesia, but my guess would be during your coolest months.

She laid her first clutch a month ago, at 10th September 2024. So i expect her eggs about a month later. And at 10th October, she show the behavior of nesting, which is being restless and digging with her hind legs to the side.

Sometime later, she stopped doing so, therefore i expect her eggs to be laid already. But i cannot find it everywhere on the enclosure. So i am wondering if it's possible that the behavior is gone, but is actually she just postponed the second clutch?

Its usually six weeks between clutches.

What happened to the hole where she was digging with the back legs?

It was covered again like nothing was there before. I dug that hole too, but found nothing inside. I dug quite deep too, about 12 inches deep.

Sulcatas lay about 16-18 inches deep.

In most cases, if they take the time to fill in a nest and cover it up, they have left eggs there.

Cracked eggs can still hatch. Try. If they were not cracked by you, I would add some calcium powder to the diet of the female a couple of times per week. Start this right now, as more eggs are on the way.
