Hi everyone... I have a question about my sulcata baby. Every time I pick him up he pees, and if I continue to hold him he will poop. Am I just "lucky" to have the only baby tortoise that does this or does anyone else's do this? Is this something maybe he will grow out of?
Thanks!
Chris

It is a defense mechanism, he will grow out of it.

Yes mine does this too, not every time I pick him up but when I examine his shell, rubbing and pressing for softness etc, the above post is right, its just defense

Yep. Normal. Some are more prone to it than others, but it should subside in the next few weeks.

This is why mine goes straight to the soaking tub before I try to handle and inspect him. He gets it all out in the soak first.

Mine also loves to relieve himself during a warm soak.
