Drinking her wee

Hi I observed today how my tort went to drink water out of her water bowl before going onto her food slate and ween.
She then smelled her wee and started drinking it.
My question is this normal and why does she half the time we on her food slate?

Many tortoises do pee in their food dish. Don't know why. I've never seen one try to drink it, and don't know how they could since it would be too shallow. You sure she's not just sniffing at it?

Yes, I thought she may be just sniffing but it looked like she was drinking it. It looked like she was swallowing. Caught the end of it on camera.
