eating habits...

OK I have had my little one for a while now and come to realize he is not going to starve himself to death. What I am wondering is his eating pattern normal. He will eat like a pig for 2 days than choose to ignore the food for a day. If and only if he passes ummm, dead bugs, will he eat after skipping a day. Is this pattern normal, eat 2 off 1 eat 2 and so on?

I have a herman tortoise! A tortoise will never starve itself as long as food is offered! My crush will eat loads for 2 days and maybe 2 mouthfulls on the next day. Nothing to wory about just make sure food is offered, but keep an eye out as if he totally goes off his food then he may need a vet trip!
