Hi! We also just got a Greek tortoise, last Friday in fact as a present for our daughter who turned 12 on Sat. We have Mr. Pickles in a good size tank and was worried cause he didn't eat for 2 days! I joined this forum and was so paranoid and worried. I soaked him everyday in a warm bath and got the "spring mix" that everyone seems so fond of and it worked wonders. He eats like a pig and dives head first in his bowl. I do know that it can take a while for a torti to get used to their new environment.............soaking them helps a lot.

When we turn his light on in the morning, he wakes up and heads straight for his bowl and eats til it's mostly gone. I refill it in the afternoon.

Mine seems to be on a schedule, eating when he gets up, stomps around his tank, basks in the light, sleeps then eats some more after he wakes up again.

I'm new to all this and still learning a lot...........yours is a cutie!

Cute little fella! What are your temperatures? Have you read the Greek tortoise care sheet? :) It looks like you might need to move your basking light a little to create 'zones' - the hot zone, where temps should be 95-100 degrees immediately under the lamp (then near that area it will likely be around 80), and then the cool zone that will be room temp.
As your tortoise grows you may find that you need to build a larger enclosure... they like lots of room to roam!
The plants and grass and such look awesome, by the way.

I feed my tortoises mid-morning, and they eat throughout the day. Whatever hasn't been eaten is usually dry and wilted, and goes on the compost.
