Ive read a lot of different information about how many times a day Eastern box turtles should be feed. Ive seen once a day, twice a day, every second day. What would you recommened?

Also should i feed at the same time everyday or at random times to keep it interesting?

How often they should be fed depends on their age/size. Hatchlings should be fed daily. Yearlings on up should be fed every other day. They usually like to be fed early in the day.

I feed every day. I make sure there's food in their dish when I go to bed. They wake up around 5 am and head for the food. You can set it down in a way that you can tell that they've gone through it. I save the bugs for the afternoon, I like watching them eat and they don't mind :)

If they are in an outside pen, I feed mine maybe every other day, sometimes 2 days. I let them hunt for food in their enclosures. Keeps them active and a bit hungry. I also vary the type and quantity of food at each feeding. I feel that because they are opportunistic feeders in the wild, they will eat as much as they can with whatever they find in the wild. And then they move on and they may not find anything substantial for days. I guess I try to feed them the same way. As long as they maintain their weight and look healthy, I believe they are happy.

I feed the one's outside in the turtle garden, every AM. The get a mix of chopped veggies, greens, fruit, mazuri and turtle brittle. I change the greens, veggies and fruit so they get a variety. In the late afternoon I go out and sit with them and give them some worms or a piece of fruit...any kind of treat. I have a side of the garden with a pile of dried leaves that has plenty of worms and bugs that they find themselves. For the babies that are still inside I feed once a day....small bugs, worms and sometimes a piece of fruit or ground venison. If you feed them at the same time each day, they will eventually be waiting for you. This is a good way to make them friendly and responsive toward you.
