Enclosure problem

I have an indoor enclosure for my russian tortoise and I use Reptibark as a substrate. My tortoise pees quite a lot and I have been spot cleaning his feces daily, however, it hasn't been smelling pleasant as of late and I was forced to take all the substrate out and clean the enclosure. There was some of moist bark at the bottom of the enclosure's substrate, mostly from his pee. If I buy a less moisture holding substrate, will that work in my favor?

I use dirt too. How often do you soak your tort? Mine almost always go potty in the soak... saves cleaning in the enclosure as much.

You might consider placing isopods (rolly pollys) in the enclosure. They consume the tortoise waste into no smell soil organic stuff. It works well.
Sounds like a good idea, will try.

Ewww, rolly polly!!! Just kidding, they're good for the enclosure. But if it were me, I'd just switch to dirt because it soaks up the pee and coconut coir smells better.
