Hi guys! I recently posted about our new additions well...... I wanted to share our upgrade to a closed chamber enclosure. My temps kept getting to hot in our first open indoor enclosure so we made the adjustments. The 1st pics are of our old habitat (even covered it with a shower curtain for 2 or 3 days until I could figure things out) the last pics are of the changes... I now have warm temps of 85 in the "basking" side and a cool 78/80 lol in the hide area... Only getting 65-70% humidity though.....Before temps were 90-95 high 80-85 low BUT I was maintaining 80% humidity. Will be getting a long UVB light Very soon. I know I know.... Lol Sheldyn was up early having Kiwi and weeds! While Sunni is steady climbing things... Is that normal? I'm guessing they are enjoying the new setup!

Looking great! Just couple things pop out to me. I have repeatedly heard from some best RF keepers/breeders that the baby enclosure temps should never drop below 80F in presence of high humidity. Also if you don't already have one, consider getting tem gun from hardware store or amazon. They are the best ways to keep up with temps. You can spot check ALL temps at ANY time, including your bath water, your tort's carapace etcImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1494606856.796272.jpg here is mine during bath i keep my water around 100F when it gets down to 93, we partially change it replacing part with fresh and warmer waterImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1494606975.795363.jpgTucker's carapace is 90F, perfect! I try to get them nice and warm in bath 90-95 and feed them afterwards. They eat like eating monsters when they are this warm.

Quick question for you, what are you using to hold up the dome CHE, is it just tape or is there something underneath it? Also, did you cut out the front and cover with curtain? I'm curious as I'm thinking of building something similar as a quarantine enclosure for new torts (which I'm hoping to get one day, soon!).

Hi! Yes for now I'm using heavy duty Gorilla Tape and will be adding foil depending on whether my humidity keeps droping for now its between 70/75% but that's with misting the inside walls! And yep I just took a piece of the shower curtain and placed it on front. This is definitely temporary. I'm going to trying something similar to this
for a more permanent place for my babies.
