Could anyone tell me if these small plants are alright for my sulcata? Also wondering what other small shrubs I may plant? Thinking about doing some St Augustin grass and clover for him to chow on as well

Canna plants are safe around pets. Others to consider - rose of sharon, pansy, hosta, search Google for safe,edible plants.

I'm not sure if HIBISCUS can grow in Mississippi .
But if they can, they are worth their weight in gold.
The leaves, flowers and even the stems are edible. And the plants recover very fast
