I did an animal husbandry course in college but it was very mammal focused. Trooper is an adventurous little Hermanns tortoise, and with very bad weather he has been inside a lot lately and he looks bored. Pacing, flipping etc.
I have varying substrates, varying tunnels and climbing places, I have cat balls with bells, a water dish with floating plastic balls. I grow cat grass in the enclosure. I've given him puzzle toys (he has to roll a ball around to get food out, or push food out of a shallow plate of water to eat it etc).
What else can I do? I want to encourage him to use all of his senses, I know he's very colour orientated. Anyone have any fun, safe ideas for an indoor bored tortoise?
