Wow! That did give me a shock at first sight!I just looked in Ginger's cage today and found that her shell had grown eyes!!! Should I be concerned?? What do you think?View attachment 186746
Mind you, it was not funny at first sight, was it?Now that's funny. I wasn't sure what to expect when I seen the thread.
Don't worry.
This is a condition called tetraopticitis and effects many tortoises.
It is caused by flowery walls to enclosures.
But it has it's uses, as they can see if a bird of prey is going to get them or if there is a flying jellyfish passing overhead.
As an evolutionary advantage I expect to see even more tortoises like this in the future.
Or not.
