I have more cactus than I need and would like to offer it to anyone who wants some. These plants are the smaller type, max pad size about 6 inches, it does get the larger spines on the older growth but it takes about a year for them to form. It also goes dormant in the winter and lays flat on the ground and stands back up in spring, It is cold and moisture resistant, no winter protection needed in colder areas,These are the whole plant roots and all. But I cant figure out the best and cheapest way to ship them. About the only thing I ever ship are boxes to my grand daughter in Colorado. I did get one of those ship anywhere boxes from the Post Office the $5 one and I can only get about 12 oz in it.--- So if you can help with shipping ideas--- all I need is the shipping cost refunded, I will front the first $25 in expense and as the shipping cost is returned I will send out more (hopefully everyone will return it) I have about 100 extra plants of this kind to get rid of, I also have about 50 three year old winter hardy hibiscus plants and a bunch of seeds that I don't need, but they should not be dug up until they go dormant. pics included--------Len

You could probably use a Priority flat rate box-they are $10-$15 depending on size. If you took them out of the pot and just bagged the roots and wrapped up the pads they should be fine...

I agree the priority flat rate boxes are the way to go. They come in different sizes, the medium size would probably be best. It costs $10.95 I think, the same price to anywhere, weight can be up to 70 pounds.

http://www.usps.com/shipping/prioritymail.htm for more info. The medium boxes are deeper than the large, and I think that would be better.

I would definitely be interested in a plant or two.

I tried packing all 3 sizes and the $14.50 is the best deal,it is 2 in deeper than the $10.95 box and by weight it is cheaper than regular priority mail.--------Still have some Cactus, Hibiscus, Daylilly, plants and Hibiscus seeds. Every thing is sent bear root. PM me with what you want and address for shipping.
