@mike taylor thank you. I think she's wonderful. As for age I can only work with the information I'm given. Was told she hatched in 3/2013. By my math that means she should just be turning 3, however it is totally possible I was misinformed.

@tctpa523, from what I understand she was hatched by tortoiseyard.com and within a few weeks of hatching was sent to a woman who was the tortoise ICU of sorts. She nursed Dottie through the fragile stages. Said lovely lady has since become ill and so I have taken up the cause.
That being said I will gladly take in any deformed torts, or perfect ones for that matter, who need a home.

Awesome. I very good friend of mine has an eyeless forsten tortoise. Tortoises(and almost all Chelonian) are very good scent feeders, drinkers, and even breeders. I read a study done on a comparison from how homosapians adapt a phaychological sense more in tune if one is depleted. For instance; mute people have a more sensible a tune hearing than a person with visual and audible perception. The portion of brain has to process each wave(sound or visual) seperate but in our brains it's a fraction of seconds. But study shows with one or more of these are inapplicable or operative in humans or animals, the others Delope not stronger but more "favorable" and require a higher percentage of processing in the brain. I've seen this to be true in canines and felines, while I worked at a veterinary clinic. Same goes with canines in loss of limb. Incredible how anatomy can correct itself in such incidences.

I just wanted to say that you're an incredible person for taking care of this beautiful tortoise, and offering to assist others like her. Most people would take one look and pass her by because she's eyeless. What a beautiful Red Foot. Thank you for sharing with all of us. Hope there are others like you. Best of luck to you and yours :<3::tort:
