I have 6 month old Shelly, whose one eyelid gets stuck sometimes. Is there something wrong? Should I soak her more often?
Can you post a pic? Is there discharge?
uv-b bulb, infrared heater. she's up and around today. got her daily soak in warm water outside in the sun. both eyes are open. she likes drinking warm water during her soak. strange. put her back and now she's eating. That is not a normal eye what kind of lights do you use? If they’re coil style that may be the culprit but infection is also possible.
What type of UVB do you have? Is it a small compact type bulb? They're known to cause problems in tort eyes. A photo of the bulb will help us to identify the issue.
The long tube type UVB bulbs don't cause these problems
Those are the type that we see this problem with. I would replace it with a long tube style UVB fixture
There are other brands that fit in a standard socket that do have a coil design, but even the straight design you have has caused issues

That's what I meant by a tube style fixture
As far as I know there are no issues like this with long tube style UVB bulbs. It's the compact florescent ones that screw into a normal socket that cause issues [emoji846]
I was wondering what a coil meant. Like a coil of rope? Doesn't look like a coil. Okay, so can you show a photo of the one you recommend?
Agreed just replace it with a regular incandescent light bulb till you can replace it.Turn your UVB lamp off completely. Your tort will be fine without it for a few days while you organise a replacement.
The distance for the tube bulbs is normally printed on the packaging
