fast growth

my female thb has been growing fast recently. she weighed only 800 g 1 month ago. today she weighed 869 grams (892 after eating) she is 8 years old. she is healthy and she didn't gain more fat. she has been mating quite often. could she be having eggs? or do they just grow that fast?

I would not call that fast growth. Some young growing tortoises gain 10-20% of their weight monthly. Eggs are a good possibility.

she isn't that young anymore though. how can you know if she has eggs?

Some times you can feel eggs by palpating the body where the back legs attach to the body. If not, an x-ray will show them.
