Hi,

How much should i be feeding my Redfoot?

He is around 3 months old and I have read so many different things online!!
Have you searched our Redfoot foods list?
They can eat the largest variety of foods of ANY species I am aware of.
So use a variety of different foods.
As much as it will consume in one sitting.
You can leave things that dont atteact ants in the enclosure all day.
Sometimes they will eat more later.
Some Redfoot seem to actually prefer food that isn't exactly fresh.

I'm by no means an expert, but have a seemingly healthy redfoot, and have read a lot here on TFO and around the www.

I put down greens and weeds and flowers for my redfoot in sufficient quantities that he can't run out.

In addition to that I make him a mixed "salad" of the above with fruit and veggies and animal protein about 2-3 times the size of his head every day.

I've made a careguide for people who help care for my redfoot and the following is clipped from the diet section:

Again, I'm not an expert, but have had good luck with feeding along these lines to date.

This is a great place to learn about caring for your tortoise.

Yes! These tortoises are great eaters and not at all fussy! To the extent that you should make sure there is no dog poop where they can reach it....:p
