Feeding Pumpkin

Hi "Radiated":

Can i feed pumpkin one in a while? Should i cook it or steam it first?
What about the seeds, what use are they?

You can offer pumpkin once in a while. If your tortoise is on the small side you may have to cook the pumpkin just a bit to soften it. If you dry the seeds then grind them up, you can sprinkle them over the food to use as a de-wormer.

For my big tortoises, I just smash the pumpkin down hard on the ground so it breaks apart and let them eat it like that, seeds and all.

I feed it to my sulcatas and leopards once in a while. I use a cheese grater to make small pieces for small tortoises.

For my Sulcata babies I grate it into a mush twice a month and mix in their vitamins. It's gone in seconds.

I feed mine grinded pumpkin seeds once in a while, just sprinkle over their food.

Can I use a mixer to mix them into powder like form and sprinkle that onto the veggies?
