It's been awhile, life got busy but too excited not to share... Christmas Day my Suriname redfoot female laid a clutch of six eggs. Candling didn't show any development (at least I thought so) in one particular egg. I carefully cracked it two weeks ago and to my delight (and horror) there was a developing baby. I patched the egg with foil and just checked today for the first time and the babe is alive and well. Hopefully in another month I will have 6 bouncing babies :)ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1426629192.640708.jpg

Patience is your new game. Hopefully, the one you cracked survives. Did you break the inner skin of the egg? As a rule of thumb, you keep spraying and incubating until it pops with grossness or a hatchling comes out. Congrats!

Thanks! He is still alive, the membrane around baby and yolk were not damaged and I'm keeping the humidity up. All the others seem to be good still, they aren't fouling or smelling yet... Here's hoping !
