First rescue of 2012

It surprising because I usually get water turtles in the winter, but I got a call yesterday that someone had found a tortoise (yup, they used the right word) on a busy street where they live. The tortoise weighs 17lbs and is 13" long. I'm leaning towards female, but its still a bit small to tell for sure. Small gular, straight anal points, kind of small tail, wavy seam between anal and femoral scutes.

I've placed a "found" ad in the paper, but after two weeks this beauty will be up for adoption:

If she is owned by someone Yvonne will find them. She always tries to find the correct keeper...

Poor baby... I hope she finds her owner, she looks well taken care of. I would take her in a heart beat if I didnt live so far. Cooper would love a female companion!
