First time brumating

This is the first time my desert torts have brumated. The weather has been cold one day and warm the next. Should I check in them to see if they are awake? They’ve been secured since the end of November. They are 3 years old. Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.

Where are they? The weather outside should be irrelevant if they are in temperature controlled hibernacula. If they are outdoors in a shallow burrow in your back yard, as is typical, that is very dangerous. Many die that way. The info found online for desert tortoise care is abhorrent.
