So, I'm taking my three juvenile ornate box turtles to the vet. I found one that comes highly recommended by several web sites so I figured I would give them a try. Symptoms are swollen closed eyes, sneezing out yellow/green mucus while soaking, lethargic behavior, not eating. There is no dripping or runny nose (when not in a soak) and I had been thinking they were just hibernating above ground, but now I am worried as they are not responding to my attempts to slowly wake them up. All the other juveniles and babies have started to come out and are doing great. Anyway, I'm off th see Dr. Messonnier DVM in Plano Texas. If anyone has any experience with him let me know. I hear he is good and has a great understanding of turtles and tortoises.
