First up, my 6yr old fishing at a lake. Anyone know where this is??

Few days later took one of the boys friends out. He had never been fishing before. Took all of 1 minute and he had his first ever fish on:

They kept coming:

Finally, my 6yr old got tired of coaching his friend, so he got in on the action:

You know I don't care much for kids...but I enjoyed those pictures and they reminded me of the 2 fishing trips I went on as a kid...here's a quick story...
I was 8 or 9 and my Mom was getting new carpet so I was put on the Greyhound bus for a 7 hour trip to my sister's house in Fresno. Her husband took me fishing and on the second trip I caught 7 baby blue gill. I put them in a jar (gonna take them home in 3 days), and carried them all the way back to San Francisco on that bus, then across the City on 3 different buses carrying those fish in that jar. I walked the 10 blocks or so carrying those fish in that jar and got home and ran up the stairs to show my Mom those fish I was so proud of, and tripped on the stairs and dropped that jar carrying those dead fish and of course it broke shattering glass and dead stinkin fish all over that new carpet. I think those stairs still stunk when we moved out of that house years later. :D
Your daughter is beautiful BTW...

Great pictures! Those kids must've had a wonderful time. Isn't it great when nature cooperates and they actually are able to catch some fish?

Thanks for sharing.

(And, Maggie, thanks for the laugh!!)

Again great pics chad. You have a great looking family and the kids look like they not only know what they are doing but are having a blast doing it. Boy your sons friend will have nice stories and memories of his first fishing trip. :) Maggie what a story I can only imagine the look on you and your moms face. Ouch. :p

The best thing is, you took pictures of the fish so we don't have to "trust" you on their size! You could almost feed your whole family on that big fattie. Your daughter has inherited her mother's beauty; she may not be grateful to look like Mom now, but she'll love it in ten years!

With this run of salmon, I could litterally catch fish all day long that sized and bigger. Every other year the run of pink salmon comes to the river system in massive numbers (500K to over a million depending on the year). And if you know what you are doing, you actually get tired of catching them pretty fast. But it is great fun for the kids. You can make them feel like fishing experts in short order and think fishing is actually easy. :)

And yes, my 14 and 15 yr old girls are beatiful. Like their mother. But they are not our biological children. In fact, we are still in the process of getting them adopted. We have 3 boys and 4 girls, but only the boys are biological.

The 15yr old pictured also has an equally pretty 14yr old sister. They both started HS this year (their last town had 7-9th grade in Jr High). Double trouble! I guess this will be training for when my twins grow up!

We should be OK though. I have the shotgun cleaned and ammo stocked up. We have the 100+lb guard dog. And you can't overlook the 35lb crazy attack tortoise!!

I guess you realize how lucky you are Chad. The one thing I miss most from when all my kids were growing up, is all the noise, from having a house full of kids all the time. For some reason everyone always came to my house. We have a big room downstairs with a bar, and a little refrigerator filled with soda and junk food, and a pool table and there used to be a couch (that's gone now...the last cat we had clawed it to death). I always left my side door open and told all the kids, if anyone couldn't make it home for any reason, the door was open. There were many mornings I woke up to find kids sleeping on my couch. Now that my last and fifth son is away in college, I really miss all that. Enjoy it while they are young.

Wow, all I can say is your older daughters must look like the people who love them most, then!

Good idea to keep Dozer handy for the unsuspecting male suitors brave enough to enter your yard to court the girls. You could casually lead him to the butt pen and then steer his attention away from the impending charge of Dozer the Dangerous...
