Help; I live in arizona with very dry humid air; Morris is about 25 pounds and lives outside. He has a house with lights, a den he can dig in, mist system and a kiddie pool. Recently I have noticed around his shutes some flaky shell; Is this normal growth or is it something to worry about. His appetite is great and is not lethargic; skin looks great. Can someone tell me if this is normal?

Hi Mwindman:

(Did we ever learn your name?)

I don't think you have anything to worry about, but would it be possible for you to take a close-up shot of the area you're concerned with?

I will try to get some pictures of what I call his grout lines; Also is there a way to get some humidity in his outside house; I have tried a humidifier but not enough?

My name is Michelle

Hi Michelle:

You do sometimes see the "grout lines" a little flakey. You can use a Q-tip to paint on some olive oil just in between the scutes on the growth lines, just something to lubricate it. But it is ok just as is.
