Hi, so my apartment has fleas. The maintenance guy will be bombing soon and I'm wondering what to do with the tortoise and the habitat here. It's a bookcase on its back. Do I put a tarp over it for the bombing? And how can I cause the least amount of stress for the tortoise? He's a Russian.

Thanks! I worry a lot more than I probably need to.

Your tortoise can't be in the apartment when it's bombed, or it will most likely die. You can cover his enclosure (tightly) with a tarp, and air out the entire apartment for HOURS before replacing him, but I would probably err on the side of caution and remove the tortoise, all food/ water dishes/ hides, while it is being bombed, and then replace the substrate after the apartment has been bombed and aired out.

I agree. Even tightly covered, some product may seep in. If you can't carry the enclosure out, then remove everything, store it, and set the empty bookcase outside OR cover it then wash thoroughly after with warm water.
Make a temp home for your tort in a small rubbermaid enclosure.

Hello and welcome to the forum.I agree with everything suggested, except reusing the substrate, There may be flea eggs in it that may hatch out later. Then the problem will start all over again.

Do you have dogs and cats that live in the apartment?
