found box turtle bleeding!! my first injury

Well lucky i got felice to answer the phone on the first ring..

So per her advice, i am bringing my 3 toed inside, in the cool area, and going to put peroxide on her foot..

It seems its possible she was so dry her "heel cracked"

i dont want her blood bringing insects or maggots to the others, so she is now chilling inside...

I am soaking her now... i am going to get some peroxide for her little leg and put a q tip drop on it.. then keep her in till shes better.. i will post a pic.. when i am done

Bleeding has stopped.. I am not sure the cause but i circled the area

also since i soaked her, i snapped some shots of her clean... she woke with with lots of red... makes me wonder if she is a girl!!!

Pretty sure she is...

This is sophia, i think i called her sylvia some where...

yes, infact after a long soak...it stooped.. i think she was so dry from hibernation...

You can put a bit of neosporin on it too. That will help with healing and keeping dirt out.

My vet that has been really great with my torts and turtles and owns a 100 lb. sulcata has told me to use a triple antibiotic ointment for several injuries that I have had with them. I have had rescues that had abcesses, etc. and I have used it with no issue. But, I have never researched it on my own.
