Hi, I have a tortoise pen in my backyard that is 12' by 12'. I am trying to plant plants that are both edible but pleasing to the eye. I have looked at purple fountain grasses to put inside but can't find out if they are toxic or edible for my tortoises. If anyone knows please let me know. The plant name is pennisetum setaceum 'rubrum' common name is purple fountain grass. I have three tortoises two hermans and one sulcatta.
Thanks

I have the purple fountain grass in one of my pens and like Stells said it doesn't get eaten but they do like to hide under it. Hibiscus is another plant but they will eat it to the ground if given the chance. That is the difficulty with most plants in a Sullys pen when they get bigger. :D
