Fruit flies or gnats

Hi everyone. I don’t get on very often, but I read a lot of information about the Leopard tortoise.
I have a concern about knats taking over my enclosure. They are relentless!! I am upgrading my enclosure from a 40 gal to a 75 gal terrarium. I need advice so when I start with fresh substrate this doesn’t happen all over again. I pulled everything out of the old enclosure and have a army of eggs from these knats. I will not use anything that I have in my new enclosure. I had topsoil mixed with the coconut coir. Then cypress mulch on top.
I need some advice on how to keep these nasty pests out of her enclosure. HELP!!

Gnats are a real pain, only takes two & they multiply like crazy in a short amount of time (28 days).

You can try hanging the sticky fly tape up in the ceiling of your enclosure
