Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of if mosquito bits and BTI are safe for tortoises? Can you put it in the drinking water, spray bottle for shell wetting/watering plants, spray on moss?
Do not add anything to the torts water other than water. Can you enclose pictures to help better. Also for flying bugs I find the old fashion fly strips work well and they even make them in new friendly shapes. The fly gets caught in the adhesive and dies. As for the others that may be fly around I also recommend tilling up the substrate to disturb the laying portion of their life cycle. Lastly please do not use moss anywhere a tort could get it and eat it as it is an impaction risk
Ive watched several DNR wildlife programs on “pest” control in Florida and the mosquito dunks are safe and only target mosquito larvae. Safe for everything including honey bees. Notice the product only targets the mosquito larvae - that’s it.

I’m pretty sure that this has been discussed before here on the Forum.
Thanks, I have been using strips and they do work but I was looking for a way to remove the eggs and reduce it even more. I'll look more into it before I do anything. For now ill invest in more strips.
