FYI on how big Chaco eggs are.

Just for you all to know how big chaco(chelonoidis chilensis) ova are. This tortoise is 7 1/2" straight line and 2.5 pounds. Look at that big egg.

Wow. That's amazing. Thank you for sharing this. Did the tortoise need surgery to remove it, or did you just have her x-rayed at a vet check-up?
Pretty extraordinary...No wonder they only have one.
Hope it hatches, assuming....I'm jealous :)

And yes. Apparently she has eaten a few rocks.

I was just about to ask about that, haha! They look small though, I assume she will pass them without difficulty?

So, how long do you estimate til this female lays her egg, assuming everything goes well?

Yeah these will pass no problem. Not sure. She dug a hole few weeks ago and covered it up without depositing an egg. So could be any day really.

Holy moly! Poor gal...that egg looks too big! Do Chacos only lay one egg at a time?
