GOOD EGGZAMPLE

There are a lot of times I see folks asking about tortoises laying inside their enclosure. Well here at the Cove' the tortoises have full range of the yard thru out the day , and rounded up just before nightfall. As many of us know RF's tend to nest in the late afternoons....and while this female had plenty of time and options -She chose to lay inside the hut. This happens many of times with many different females within the herd.

Ya think they choose to lay inside because by now, they know theyre in their home base there, and maybe they feel the eggs are safer?

Mike 5th pic down is not the " egg layer" .. just a nosey -bee. The actual tort you see laying is all not that small ....She is about 11" which for a Cherry Head is good size and about full maturity size.

Z man who knows .... this gal lays both inside and outside ... She had faked nest all week long a decent 4 times , nice deep nest .. then just walked away . " It's gotta be a gal thing" v^v^v^duckingv^v^
