For years I’ve read “We Can’t all be Rattlesnakes” by Patrick Jennings aloud to my students. It is a chapter book told by a gopher snake’s perspective. It focuses a lot on the importance of leaving wild creatures alone and being kind and respectful. It teaches differences between reptiles and mammals. It is a very funny book and my own teenage children still tell me it is one of their favorite books of all time. My nine year old is reading it now. I thought I’d pass along this info to you guys.
