I have an adult male Greek tortoise. He has always been a very healthy tortoise. Recently he has been making strange noises, He wheezes in air and then farts it out. It almost seems as if something is stuck inside of him and he is trying to force it out. He was pooping normal until the other day, since then he has only been peeing with urates mixed in, and has had diarreha. He has stopped eating and will only occasionally nibble a little. I keep him outside in the summer, in the winter he is kept in a 40 gallon breeder tank that has lots of floor room, temps are in the mid to high 60's with a basking area in the low 90's. He gets fresh food and water everyday. I have had him for six years and he has been doing great untill now. I never had a UVA/UVB in his indoor tanl for the winter since he was outside all summer and i let him out to walk in the kitchen and bask in the sun coming through the window. I have been bathing him regularly. Hopefully the bulb will help. What do you think should do?

Increase his temps!! Get his basking area to 110F and overall temp high 70's. Keep him warm 24/7 for at least a week. Make sure you soak him every few days while keeping him warm. Does he have a runny nose?

Sounds like a respiratory infection, or it could be a bloom of intestinal parasites that are manifesting as a respiratory infection. Have you had a fecal sample checked by a vet? I would do that ASAP, because an RI can turn into much worse very quickly...

Yeah, you really need to find a care sheet on here and follow it to the letter. If it were my tort we would be going to the vet a.s.a.p. best of luck.

No, his nose is clear and eyes look fine.
