Gritty, needs more hydration. Creamy like tooth paste is what you want.

No he hasn't had any dandelions yet until I can grow them.

I soak him almost every other day for 15 minutes at least. Should I increase the time, and start every day?

The pink is most concerning to me as I can't think of anything fed that might discolor his urates.

Has he been pooping normally? Do you notice any straining? I would soak him in warm water every day for 20-30 minutes in a large container like the tub so if this is the start of a blockage, the walking around the tub and the warm soak will help get things moving. I would also keep an eye on him and make sure he poops regularly, not straining and check it for parasites. I would do,this until he poops creamy urates. That's just my opinion, see what Yvonne says.

@Yvonne G might know if there is another food or something else that would cause this color.

Yup, he poops like he always does especially after soaks. I'm going to have a fecal test done just to put my mind at ease about that being an issue. He's eating normally too.

This week he's been eating arugula, escarole, and endive.

I've seen this with my Russian. Another way to increase hydration is to either spray the food with water or to rinse and put it in right away

The color of slight pink is not an issue...the gritty texture of urates would be the concern....I would offer warm water soaks for no less than 30 minutes (and make sure to keep the water warm).....I would also offer some "wet" type foods--squash, zucchini, green and red leaf lettuces as well as romaine...this will allow the tort the ability to take in additional water while enjoying a treat....the goal, in my opinion, is to try to achieve no urates....

Thank you. I'll add in some squashes.
