Grow lights? Help....

I am doing a basement enclosure for my 2 yr old sulcata & want to put a kiddy pool with an african grazer seed mix for him to graze, as well as other plants. I am looking at grow lights to add & I have no idea what I am doing.

But before I spend the $$$ on something that may not be strong enough - Any tips on how to pick a bulb or fixture?
There is no natural light in the room at all. Just a couple of fluorescent fixtures.

My plants at work on my desk always did well under the fluorescent lights.

Mine too, but do you think that is enough to grow grasses?

Maybe not. Houseplants are usually a low light plant.

Yes, but the lights need to be fairly close. With fluorescent lights, you usually keep them within 12" of the plant. Last time I grew a bunch of plants inside, I used a 6-lamp T-8 fluorescent high bay hanging from an adjustable stand made from PVC.

Excellent, than you. So no pricey bulbs needed.
