Growth.. I cant tell

The 1st attatchment is a photo of crush when I got him 1st October 2008.
The sencond and 3rd 1 is a recent one of him now!

Maybe its just me but I cannot tell if he has grown, or anything!
He has put weight on, but I cant notice any new growth. I tried using that thread that meg posted about new growth but I still cannot notice. Must be a bad parent!

Can you see any?
Do you think he has bad pyramids?
What do you think?

I would appreciate any differences or similarities of him from the before and later pictures that you guys can see. I really feel I have a dewarf tortoise not a herman

Are you taking periodic measurements of his SCL? There's a thread on how to do this measurement properly:

If you do this every two weeks or so, you should know for certain how much and how fast Crush is growing. Good luck!

Its hard for us to tell because the pictures are in a different location. We have no "landmarks" to guide us. If you place Crush on a sheet of paper and trace an outline of him with a pencil, then in a month or so, put him back on the same piece of paper, you can see whether he has exceeded the pre-drawn outline.

Yup Crush has grown and quite a bit (close to 1/2"). His growth looks great. I don't see any problem with pyramiding.

So crushes SCL was 8.5cm about 2 month ago, now it is 9cm
is that good? average? bad?

This tortoise has grown a lot! And looks great, you have no worries. The first image looks like a started baby and the two after show it as a well growing juvie! Good work. Pretty tortoise, Hermann's are great tortoise companions.
