Growth Rate

hi I have an 8 month old red footed tortoise that hatched on March 13 he is currently living in a 6x4 closed,chamber and he eats well but he is only 77 grams and has not even got his first growth rings I wasn't worried before but almost a year old and no growth rings now I'm worried by the time anyone replies I will most likely be in school so thanks for the advice in advance

Correction 80'grams and it looks like the scutes have little lines in between them

This is something that is not always very visible. I believe that maybe it is more visible on tortoises that have had an accelerated growth, such as ones living in the tropics. (As far as Redfoot go.)

I have never kept Red Footed Tortoises however I am certain yours must have doubled I size since it has hatched. You are weighing yours which is the best way to monitor its growth. Visible growth rings are nothing to brag about anyway
