I have no less than 8 different thermometers on my incubators, none of which agree with each other.I need to find a way of checking accuracy so they can be calibrated. Also does anyone know of a source for guaranteed accurate thermometers? I'm afraid I've been incubating at somewhere around 66 or 67 dergrees, but can't be sure. Crossing my fingers and hoping I haven't ruined all these eggs!

When I did a quick search for "certified thermometers", one of them that came up was from a photography supply house. If you have any of those local, that might be a good, quick way to pick up an affordable certified thermometer.

or better yet this,

I just did a search on how to calibrate a thermometer, that makes more sense to do *face palm* I should do this myself.

this is a better site, gov one. Gives adjustments for altitude and such.

I've had good luck with the Accurite brand that you buy at Home Depot or Lowes. I buy the ones with remote (for use outside) sensors. They show indoor and outdoor temps. I have two of these I use for incubators and get very similar (within 1 degree) results from all 4 readings, 2 indoor, 2 outdoor.

I so agree with you jackrat. We went back to the basic mercury thermometers and even continuously double check them. The incubation thermometers by little giant are what we use and they work well for us.
